Leonardo Da Vinci'ye Saygı: Benim Yolculuğum

Artistic works, ideas, different opinions, interesting offers have always attracted my attention. This project, I can say, began with Onay Akbaş's presentation of one of his dreams to us.

When İbrahim Karaoğlu and Onay Akbaş spoke of the project, I was very excited and impressed. It was a great idea, very ambitious and so stimulative that I remember I thought ''I must be in this project too'' with all my being. While beginnig the project after a serious feasibility study; I adopted overcoming difficulties, problems and deficiencies in order to reach the best and to have great respect for the genius of centuries without fail as the basic principle. And as a result, it didn't take long for me to be the owner and coordinator of the project.

Turkey was also participating in the international events for the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci's death. We set out with a team of valuable artists and writers from our country. This road took us both to the starting point of the project and to Amboise.

Amboise is a small medieval town built on the banks of Loire River in central France. The town is small but it is the place where the great master spent the last three years of his life and said farewell to life. In Amboise, we had to opportunity to see Leonardo Da Vinci's house, kitchen, atelier, his room, garden, inventions, artistic works closely, to obtain the most accurate information about him, learn his stories, listen to his music and breathe the air he breath. At the end of the Amboise tour, which was carried out under the guidance of valuable names, especially the Museum Director Marc Metay, I should say that I felt myself in the France of 500 years ago. I am sure that many friends in the team shared the same feelings.

The project within the framework of respect for Leonardo Da Vinci; envisaged the creation of new works by experiencing and interprenting his art and philosophy of lise, the heritage of humanity left to date, and features that formed his personel values in brief.

After returning to Turkey, the feelings created by this very impressive experience we had with Leonardo were reflected on the canvas, painted, embroidered by some of us; some of us hammered the metal, shaped it; some of us clung to their pen, and wrote, wrote, wrote... some blew to the ney, some composed... The documentary team who were with us since the first step of the project; which recorded the feelings of the artists, writers, and the valuable knowledge of the scientists firsthand, continued their devoted work.

While the creative team prepared the visual material that was, completing the identity of the project, on the one hand, it also carried out the works of presenting the project to art lovers in coordination with the publication and promotion team and through the most effective channels, and prepared this book for publication. And curator of our exhibition planned the work-space relations and other details that will ensure the most effective presentation of the project. Beşiktaş Municipality which is the primary sponsor of the project and especially the Mayor Mr. Rıza Akpolat have always been with us with their close interest.

In this project story that I tried to summarize with the title ''My Journey''; many people who worked together with artists, authors, musicians, journalists and filmmakers also banded together. I believe that the project is successful and I believe that the main reason for this success is dedication, love, respect and sharing. But personally, I also believe that the great pleasure of participating the project on Leonardo da Vinci is also an important motivation for all of us...

Leonardo da Vinci is a genius who has gained the admiration of all people, all cultures ever and the whole world for 500 years. In the 500th year of his death, we had an opportunity to know and experience him one more time this year together with the countries of the world; his art, his mathematical genius, his determination to work, his inexhaustible sense of curiosity, his researcher personality, his universal human identity and humanism, his approach of being a virtuous person, and many other qualities. And 500 years later, we commemorate this valuable Renaissance master again and one more time with works interpreted by our artists, and we present it to the future...

Sanatsal işler, fikirler farklı görüşler, ilginç teklifler ilgimi çekmiştir hep. Bu proje, diyebilirim ki Onay Akbaş'ın bir hayalini bizlere yansıtmasıyla başladı. İbrahim Karaoğlu ve Onay Akbaş projeden söz ettiklerinde çok heyecanlandım ve etkilendim.

Harika bir fikirdi , çok iddialıydı ve öylesine tahrik ediciydi ki tüm varlığımla 'ben de bu işte var olmalıyım' diye düşündüğümü hatırlıyorum. Ciddi bir fizibilite çalışmasının ardından projeye başlarken; güçlüklerin, sorunların, yetmezliklerin üstesinden gelerek en iyiye ulaşmayı, yüzyılların dehasına saygıda kusur etmemeyi temel prensip olarak benimsedim. Ve sonuç olarak projenin sahibi ve koordinatörü olmayı kabullenmem uzun sürmedi.

Leonardo da Vinci'nin ölümünün 500. yılı uluslararası etkinlikleri arasında Türkiye de var artık. Ülkemizin yetiştirdiği değerli sanatçılar ve yazarlardan oluşan bir ekiple yola çıktık. Bu yol bizi hem projenin başlangıç noktasına hem de Ambois'a götürdü.

Amboise, Fransa'nın orta bölgesinde, Loire nehri kenarında kurulmuş küçük bir ortaçağ kasabası. Kasaba küçük ama büyük ustanın yaşamının son üç yılını geçirdiği ve hayata veda ettiği yer. Amboise'da Leonardo Da Vinci'nin evini, mutfağını, atölyesini, yaşadığı odayı, bahçesini, icatlarını, sanatsal çalışmalarını yakından görme, onunla ilgili en doğru bilgileri edinme, öykülerini öğrenme, onun müziğini dinleme ve onun soluduğu havayı soluma fırsatı bulduk. Başta müze müdürü Marc Metay olmak üzere değerli isimlerin rehberliğinde gerçekleşen Amboise turunun sonunda kendimi 500 yıl öncesinin Fransa'sında hissettiğimi söylemeliyim. Ekipteki pek çok dostun da aynı duyguları paylaştığından eminim.

Proje; Leonardo Da Vinci'ye duyulan saygı çerçevesinde; onun sanatını ve hayat felsefesini, ondan bugüne kalan insanlık mirasını, özetle kişisel değerlerini oluşturan özellikleri yaşayarak ve yorumlayarak yeni eserler ortaya çıkarmayı öngörüyordu.

Türkiye'ye döndükten sonra, Leonardo ile yaşadığımız bu çok etkileyici deneyimin yarattığı duyguları kimimiz tuvaline yansıttı çizdi, boyadı, nakış nakış işledi; kimimiz madeni çekiçledi, biçimlendirdi; bazılarımız da kalemine sarıldı yazdı, yazdı, yazdı... Ney üfleyen de oldu, beste yapan da... Projenin ilk adımından itibaren bizlerle birlikte olan; sanatçıların, yazarların duygularını, bilim insanlarının değerli bilgilerini ilk ağızdan tespit eden belgesel ekibi özverili çalışmalarını sürdürdü.

Kreatif ekip, bir yandan proje kimliğini tamamlayan görsel malzemeyi hazırlarken, duyuru ve tanıtım ekibi ile koordineli olarak ve en etkili kanallarla projenin sanatseverlere sunulması çalışmalarını yürüttü, bu kitabımızı yayına hazırladı. Ve sergimizin küratörü, projenin en etkili biçimde sunulmasını sağlayacak eser-mekan ilişkileri ile diğer detayları planladı. Projenin en önemli destekleyicisi olan Beşiktaş Belediyesi, başta Belediye Başkanı Sayın Rıza Akpolat olmak üzere yakın ilgileri ile hep yanımızda oldular.

'Benim Yolculuğum' başlığıyla özetlemeye çalıştığım bu proje öykümüzde; sanatçı, edebiyatçı, müzisyen, gazeteci ve sinemacılar ile birlikte görev üstlenen çok sayıda kişi tek yürek olarak çalıştı. Projenin başarılı olduğunu görüyor ve bu başarının temel nedeninin özveri, sevgi, saygı, paylaşım olduğuna inanıyorum. Öte yandan, kişisel olarak yine inanıyorum ki Leonardo Da Vinci ile ilgili bir projede yer almış olmanın büyük hazzı da hepimiz için önemli bir motivasyondur...

Leonardo da Vinci, 500 yıldır gelmiş geçmiş bütün insanların, bütün kültürlerin, tüm dünyanın hayranlığını kazanmış bir dahi. Ölümünün 500. yılında dünya ülkeleri ile birlikte, onu sanatıyla, matematiksel dehasıyla, çalışma azmiyle, tükenmeyen merak duygusuyla, araştırmacı kişiliği ile birlikte, evrensel insan kimliği ve hümanizması ile, erdemli insan olma yaklaşımıyla ve daha nice özelliği ile bu yıl bir kez daha tanıma ve yaşama fırsatı bulmuş olduk. Ve 500 yıl sonra bu çok değerli Rönesans üstadını bu kez bizim sanatçılarımızın yorumladığı eserlerle yeniden ve bir kez daha anıyor, geleceğe armağan ediyoruz...
